The Wedding: A Sparkling Start But Not the Whole Story!

Your soon-to-be wedding day lives in your imagination like a glittering movie trailer—slow-motion walks down the aisle, happy tears, and flowers that seem to arrange themselves.

And then, suddenly, it’s here.

All the planning and prepping, the money spent, and the details that everyone has written down...but the wonderful truth is: none of it has to be perfect to be magical!

Because beneath the decor and the details, the heart of the day is beautifully simple—you’re making promises:

• To choose each other, even on the days when everything feels upside down

• To keep learning who your partner is, again and again, as you both grow and change

• To hold onto kindness, especially when it would be easier to be right

The wedding is a gorgeous prologue. It’s the door you walk through together, hand in hand.

But it’s not the whole story.

The real story unfolds afterward—when the last candle burns out, the fancy clothes are back in the closet, and it’s just the two of you in the soft, ordinary light of everyday life. That’s where the quiet, steady kind of magic begins: shared breakfasts, inside jokes, sleepy goodnights, and the ongoing adventure of figuring out what “us” really means.

I don't photograph weddings often, but I had a special invite from Meghan and Matt to capture their small church wedding. I had all the feels watching these two make it official. They are too sweet for words. Congratulations, and here's a toast to your wonderful story!
